The Dispensary
Recently visited Liverpool for a weekend break for my husbands 60th birthday. Whilst there we met company who where staying at our hotel 'a gentleman and his two support workers' we went for afternoon drinks in the Dispensary. To my horror the manager asked myself and my husband to leave as "we are not sitting in his pub drinking only soft drinks!" he then in a hostile manner told the gentleman and his two carers to leave saying that one of them was smoking in the bathroom, even though none of the company where smokers. I would not like to think that in 2011 people would show prejudice against an adult with a learning disability or narrow mindness that adults can not sit an enjoy a Saturday afternoon without an alcoholic beverage.
